Dummy Cameras Provide Added Security Without The High Costs Of Security Cameras

From the outside, dummy cameras appear to be real security cameras, but they lack the expensive recording components inside. Without physically taking a dummy camera apart, there is no way of knowing it is actually a fake. Dummy cameras provide added security without the high costs of additional cameras. When a criminal sees a security camera, or what is thought to be one, he is likely move on. When faced with a tight budget, dummy cameras are an excellent alternative to fully functioning security cameras.

Various dummy cameras offer an assortment of capabilities, and it is important that you think about the different features and abilities available to you when choosing dummy cameras. Your choice of dummy cameras depends on which elements you feel are the most important and which ones fit your needs and budget the best.

Features

- Flashing or steady LED "recording" light,
- Panning motion or steady,
- Actual camera housings or look-alikes,
- Bullet style or dome style, and
- Indoor or outdoor structure.

Choosing dome style dummy cameras will lead burglars to believe you have the ability to view a 360-degree range of an area, while bullet style dummy cameras give off the perception that a close-up picture of his or her face is being recorded.

Home Use

If you have already installed surveillance equipment in your home, but would like to give the impression of having more cameras, dummy cameras are the way to go. Burglaries are not hasty crimes. Homes are usually staked out by burglars before any crime takes place, and the presence of cameras, especially more than one, is enough to send any burglar on his or her way.

Business Integration

Each year in the United States, retailers lose approximately 10 billion dollars due to shoplifting and 15 billion dollars due to employee theft. The strategic placing of dummy cameras is an efficient and inexpensive way to deter pilfering. Placement should be well thought out, keeping in mind the three locations which will get the most attention: (1) the front entrance (2) the back corners (3) the back door or loading dock.

The power of suggestion offered by the presence of dummy cameras is an effective tool in lowering your costs due to theft.

You deserve top notch security of your home and your business, no matter your budget constraints. The integration of dummy cameras is a cost-efficient and unproblematic way to ensure the safety of your home, family, business, and employees.

How To Have A Low Cost Web Site With High Cost Features

There a lot of solutions out there that enables anyone to create a web site.

Though these solutions usually give a variety of templates that the user can choose from and customize with his own information.

The problem arises when the site owner wants more than just an informative site.

He wants to communicate with his web site surfers, receive feedback from them in a variety of issues i.e. Contact us form, Polls, Feedback and many more Web Forms.

To create and add these Web Forms usually he needs a programmers help (paid of course) that will build him the code of those Web Forms and to upgrade his hosting from a simple HTML hosting to Code / Database hosting.

These operations increase the cost of the web site ten folds and even more.

There are some solutions out there that enable a non programmer web site owner to create and manage forms, in this article I would like to suggest one of them: http://www.formlogix.com is web platform that enables you to do that and more.

Creating a form is the first step using the system.

The form creator tool is a user friendly web form designer, which does not require graphic or technical skills whatsoever.

Using the form creator tool, one can create, change and delete forms.

Also you can publish the form through your web site (using the formlogix platform with no need for database and expensive hosting)

Once data is gathered through the form, one can view it using a web based interface.

The information viewed can be sorted and sliced for maximum comfort.

You will also be able to create, edit, and delete data.

Whenever there is a new data entry, you will be advised via e-mail, and will thus be kept up-to-date.

The Inside Picture Of A Digital Camera

Electronics greatest technological breakthrough in this modern age is the digitization of analog signals. Digital information, which is represented by 1s and 0s, is formed upon successful conversion of analog information, which is represented by a fluctuating wave. This conversion of analog to digital has made the world of science and technology make great advances into the field of computers, Internet, satellites, and space research.

On the consumer domain, the benefits of this technological breakthrough can be witnessed in consumer electronic products like TVs, computers, cameras, camcorders, CDs, DVDs, etc. Digitization gave rise to microchips, which could be programmed to perform any task. With the utilization of the microchip, the digital camera was born.

In a digital camera, the lens focuses the image, the shutter allows the entry of light reflecting from that image into the camera, for a fraction of a second, and the aperture determines the quantity of light allowed inside the camera. When the light enters the camera, it does not fall on a photographic film as it does in a conventional camera, rather it falls on an image sensor.

The image sensor is an electronic device, a semiconductor, made up of photosites that measures the light intensity. The photosite can only measure the intensity of light and cannot recognize any color. To overcome this, each photosite is covered with a color filter of red, or a green, or a blue color according to a pattern known as the Bayer pattern. Since the human eye is twice sensitive to the green color, the number of photosites having green color is twice the number of photosites having red or blue color. Millions of photosites are covered by this Bayer pattern. Each color occupies a single photosite, which is known as a pixel.

The more the number of pixels, the greater is the amount of detail that can be captured. The detail of the image is called as resolution, which is determined by the quality of the lens and the number of pixels in the image sensor. High-end digital cameras have about 12 million pixels, whereas professional digital cameras have about 20 million pixels.

The information of the pixels is recorded as electrical analog signals, is amplified, and then is fed into a converter, which converts the amplified analog signals into digital binary numbers, with respect to the color information of each pixel. These digital binary numbers are then fed into a computer chip residing inside the camera. The computer chip analyzes the digital binary numbers that have been made as per the color of individual pixels. This information is known as RAW data. For analysis, the computer chip subjects this RAW data using a technique known as demosaicing.

In this technique (demosaicing), the pixel color is determined as per the color of the neighboring pixels. For example, if a red color pixel is surrounded by blue and green pixels, then that red color pixel is treated as white color, since the color white is a combination of the colors, red, blue, and green. After demosaicing is complete, the image is further subjected to the photographer`s settings of the camera, like adjustments made for brightness, color saturation, contrast, etc.

High-end digital cameras usually do not do anything more to the image thus produced. However, professional digital cameras have a sharpening algorithm, which heighten the sharpness and clarity of the demosaiced and settings adjusted image. Professional digital cameras also have the option of saving the image in its RAW data before any demosaicing or adjustments are made by the computer chip. This is to give control to the professional photographers to make changes to the RAW data as per their own choices.

The image can be saved in an uncompressed format like TIFF or a compressed format like JPEG. Uncompressed formats preserve greater information; thus, the detail of the photograph is much more than a compressed format, where detail is less, as lesser information is stored. Hence, compressed formats are also known as lossy formats, since details are lost. An uncompressed format increases the file size, whereas a compressed format reduces the file size. Depending upon the need, the image can be saved either in an uncompressed or a compressed image format, as bits and bytes in a memory card. The stored image can be viewed on the digital camera`s display screen as a digital photo.

This digital photo can then be transferred from the digital camera to the computer`s hard disk via the serial port or USB port or FireWire port or Bluetooth wireless using Wi-Fi connectivity. RAW data and uncompressed data like TIFF take a longer time to transfer than compressed data like JPEG or GIF.

Once the data has been transferred to the computer`s hard disk, any photo editing software can manipulate and adjust it, as per the individual tastes and requirements of the photographer. The digital photo can then be printed on photographic paper, specially coated paper, or any other paper via a color inkjet or laser printer. Utilizing a plotter, it can be printed in larger sizes, in any other medium like canvas, acrylic, vinyl, etc. The digital photo can be saved on a hard disk, pen drive or a CD, for archival purposes.

With passing time, more and more features are being introduced in a digital camera. Nowadays, audio-video recording is also fused with the still image capturing capability of the digital camera, making them small camcorders (camera + recorders).

Six Ways to Master the Art of Article Marketing

In recent years with the proliferation of article distribution services like SubmitYourArticle.com, Content Desk and WeSubmitArticles.com, it seems that everyone is jumping on the article submission bandwagon. Along with these self-marketers comes a group of industry experts who are eager to share their knowledge with the world.

As a writer, editor and reviewer of such articles, I have seen incredibly well-written pieces that are engaging and informative. I have also seen a rash of poorly written articles that fail to clearly make their point.

If article marketing is a part of your marketing plan, follow these suggestions to ensure that you not only put your best foot forward but also that your readers enjoy your material and seek you out as a resident expert in your topic of choice.

1. Use attention-getting headlines. A clever headline will ignite your reader's interest. For example, instead of labeling your article "Preparing Your Home for Sale," title it "Top 10 Tips for Improving Your Home's Curb Appeal." While the first headline is descriptive, the second one is much more engaging and more likely to captivate readers.

2. Know your topic and present it clearly. Whether you are truly an industry expert in your selected topic or a ghost writer working from research notes, make sure that you understand the topic well enough to explain it to someone else. In addition, break the material down into manageable "bite size" chunks of information. Use bulleted and numbered lists to present information in simple, easy- to-follow steps.

3. Submit articles in a timely fashion. I have repeatedly seen authors submit articles that are well past their prime. For example, avoid submitting Valentine's Day gift suggestions after February and Halloween costume ideas in July. Readers will ignore such advice if its timing is poor, so save it until the information is appropriate again.

4. Ensure that your articles are free of spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors. Granted, you may not have been born with a red pen and a dictionary in your hands, but submitting quality material is critical. Why? Errors detract from the readability of an otherwise useful article and, at the same time, hamper your credibility. Use spell check, invest in a grammar guide or hire a professional proofreader or copywriter.

5. Conclude your article with a call to action. Consider what you would like your reader to do after reading your article - Try a new exercise technique? Rethink a business relationship? Test a new recipe? Research online opportunities on the Web? Encourage your reader to take that next step. And, please DO NOT end your article with, "so there you have it" You are essentially saying to your readers, "There you go, dummy."

6. Maximize the resource box. Article submission directories offer you either a plain text or HTML resource box, or sometimes both. Make the most of this space by including your name and/or your company's name, a one or two-line bio, and contact information such as a website or e-mail address. To encourage readers to access your Web site, offer an incentive such as a free report or a complimentary subscription to your e-zine or electronic newsletter.

Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization: Any difference?

For many casual internet users, the terms SEM and SEO rarely enter their minds when they are busy jumping from one website to another. However, it is these terms that determine much of what comes out on the results page whenever we type in a word in the search tab of any accessible search engine. These terms are also responsible for all those advertisements and pop-ups that link us to even more websites, whether they may be connected to our original search or not. So just what are SEM and SEO?

In the simplest way possible, SEM and SEO are tools which website creators, especially those who are promoting and selling a certain service or product, use in order to gain a lot of exposure and better ranking for their website. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, the simplicity ends there.

To make it a tad bit complex, SEM and SEO are not the same. As suggested by the names, SEM, or Search Engine Marketing, deals more with how a website is marketed to gain exposure in the different search engines available on the internet, while SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, deals with how the web creators develop and re-develop the content, quality and structure of their entire websites so that whenever an internet user types in a particular word in the search tab, their websites have a better chance of appearing on the first few search engine results pages (SERPS).

Now, to make it even more complex, although the functions of SEM and SEO seem different, they are more effective when used together. Since the main function of SEM is to gain more exposure for a website, the more common means for attraction are online advertisements, blogs, internet articles, partner and sponsored websites, and anything that can catch the eye of the internet user. SEM also makes use of PPC (pay-per-click) and paid inclusion to further push a websites visibility. Lastly, it is also an important process in SEM to submit the name and URL of a website to different search engines and web directories if only to inform them of the websites existence. All this is carried out to ensure the popularity of a website.

So how does SEO come together with SEM? Well, despite having all the advertisements provided by SEM, it is truly the SEO that allows the internet user to easily and conveniently find what he is looking for. Since the function of SEO is to gain a better ranking in the SERPS, the web creator has to constantly optimize his website in order to cater to the needs of the internet user and to make it easier for spiders or web crawlers to judge whether the websites content is relevant to the word/s being searched. Optimization is not a simple and easy task. It involves having to restructure the website regularly (by editing the html code and meta tags, changing content, reorganizing the site map, developing an easier navigational structure, etc.) so as to adapt to the rapidly changing demands of the internet user. Still, when done properly, not only does SEO help a website become more useful and therefore, more often visited by the internet user, it also helps gain more exposure since it increases the websites chances of gaining a better rank in the SERPS.

Both SEM and SEO success rely heavily on the words or context which Internet users type in whenever they search for something on the internet. Take PPC under SEM, for example. PPC is an ad that is triggered by a particular word or context used by an internet user. Once a particular word or context is searched, a corresponding PPC ad for a website comes out. SEO works in the same way. The web creator inputs a particular Meta tag (or keyword) in his html that he believes many internet users will use when searching for information, information which the web creators website may contain.

Although all of these processes involving SEM and SEO are tedious and time-consuming, it all boils down to knowing and serving the target audience. A web creator must be discerning enough to know what the internet users need and want, and at the same time he must have the real passion to inform and provide the internet users with the right service and product.

How To Make A Screencast

Screencast

Screencast is a digital recording of computer screens, full screens or screen regions and usually comes with an audio narration to describe the on-screen actions. The term screencast dates back to 2004 with an interesting story.

In 2004, a columnist Jon Udell invited readers of his blog to propose names for the emerging genre. In all the suggested terms, Udell selected screencast, which was proposed by both Joseph McDonald and Deeje Cooley. His "Heavy metal umlaut" screencast is a well-known example - which explains how Wikipedia works.

http://weblog.infoworld.com/udell/gems/umlaut.html

Since then, the term screen has be known by more people and the use of screencasts has itself become more popular. Currently the new trend of screencast is documentary filmmaking of software-based social networking services like Wikipedia, del.icio.us. or digg.

In This Article

1. Screencast Types
2. Screencasting Tools
3. Guide Lines of making a screencast

Screencast Types

Product Tutorials: The screencast tells users how to use a software application or service by showing screen introductions. Usually, there is a recorded voice over to walk through the steps.

See examples below

Cracking WEB in 10 Minutes

http://userportal.iha.dk/~02882/Whoppix-wepcrack.swf

Short How-to: This kind of screencast usually is often short and demonstrate a simple guide or gives tips and tricks to solve a small problem or dig into a product feature.

See example below

Better use of Window s Search Feature

Conversational Demos:

Conversational demos has more focus on the conversion rather than the screens. Usually, there are two voices for the screen. Often one is asking question about the screen and another gives the answer.

Software review:

If you are asked for writing a software review , you can always make a screencast to highlight some features.

User produced demo:

Some software applications are difficult to use and you sometimes have some unexpected troubles. Making a screencast to explain will help you a lot when you are talking to the technical support. You can even make you troubleshooting demo to share with your friends and families.

Of course, there are more types has not yet included in this article.

Screencasting Tools

Guide Lines of making a screencast

1. Know what you want to present

First and foremost, You'll need to have an idea about what you'll present, and you'll need to figure out which platform to use. Knowing your purposes of making a screecast is the first to come.

2. Make it real

Always to make a screencast in real and substantial scene. For example, it is for software demonstration or a network monitor, then work with the software or live network.

Of course , for reasons of logistics or security, this isn't always possible. But the more real we can make it, the better.

3. Interactivity is important

Interactivity engages viewers through the demo. If your screecast is just screen by screen, your viewers will leave soon. You can and Id argue you should record narration or insert background music to the screencast. Usually, some screencasting tools like DemoCreator enable you to add some visual aids to the captured screens like callouts, shapes, annotation buttons and animated images. Note that when a screencast is interactive it will engage the viewers in a conversation that steers it into unexpected areas.

6 Serious Article Writing Deficiencies, and 6 Ways You Can Fix Them

As a writer and editor of The Digital Camera Zone, I spend hours every day scouring the ezine barns for articles to put in front of an information hungry public.

I definitely find a lot of articles, all right. They number in the thousands. Because I need content to feed a voracious audience, I select as many as I can even though I'm often not really happy with many of them.

Why, I can hear you ask, do you publish articles that you are not happy with?

Well, the answer lies in several unfortunate deficiencies in many of the articles published in article barns...

DEFICIENCY NUMBER ONE: INADEQUATE CONTENT

Many articles are glaringly superficial. The author may start with a good premise, say, the need to research out digital cameras before buying one, but then drops the ball.

In essence, the only thing the article says, in 500 - 600 words or so, is Do your homework.

-There are no concrete suggestions as to how to do the research.

-There are no suggested sources where the reader can go to find information.

-There are no criteria by which the reader can decide which camera is best for her.

In short, the article might not as well have been written. The writer is merely telling the reader what she already knew and provides no real information. Remember: it's not content that is king; it's quality content that is king.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER TWO: OVERDEPENDENCE ON KEYWORD ANALYSIS

Just about every article on writing articles for the web emphasizes that your creation should be rich in the keywords your readership is inputting into the search engines.

The trouble comes when you try to include all of the right keywords in your article so that people will find and read it. The danger is that you actually degrade the content of the article and make it less useful.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER THREE: NOT GRABBING THE READER'S ATTENTION AT THE BEGINNING

There's nothing that attracts a reader more quickly to an article than a short story, anecdote or personal experience that identifies her with the subject.

This anecdote or short story should be based on experience, either your own, an acquaintance, or a plausible situation, and should confront the reader with a problem, immerse her in a dilemma, or invoke an emotion that directly leads to the solution posed by the article.

Many article writers start firing facts at the reader and doggedly go on in the same paragraph to advance the solution, without really building up the reader's curiosity or expectations.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER FOUR: NO ORGANIZATION

Many writers, when they decide it's time to pump out their daily (or minute-ly) articles, sit down and write paragraph after paragraph until the word count reaches 850 words or so without any discernible organization to their work.

Then they stop, and fire it off.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER FIVE: NO SUB HEADS OR BULLETS

We load up the article with long paragraphs which exhibit no logical breaks.

The article has no:

-- Subheads. A pithy subhead for each paragraph will pique your reader's interest and lead her into it. If your readers don't encounter at least one subhead after reading a couple of paragraphs, you've probably lost them.

-Bullets. If you've got several points you want to make in a paragraph, create as many bullets as you need. Don't overdo it of course. Bullets are like salt.

-Numbers. If you've got sequential steps you want the reader to take, number them. It makes it so much easier to figure out what you're trying to say.

DEFICIENCY NUMBER SIX AND THE FINAL HORROR: GRAMMATICAL AND SPELLING MISTAKES

-Gramatical Mistakes. Yes, you knew this one was coming-things like your, when you mean you're; its when you meant it's.

-Spelling Errors. Your reader will assume that if you can't spell, you don't know what you're talking about.

-Incomplete Sentences. Have a subject, a verb and an object unless you're being fancy, and know you're being fancy.

-Missing Words. Missing words, for example, I went New York, are enough to blow any reader away. My question is, You went what?

If your article contains any of these stoppers, your readership will never get as far as your Resource Box.

SO WHAT'S THE SOLUTION? GO OUT AND HIRE A PROFESSIONAL WRITER?

No, you are the pro. Here's what you can do to make your articles sizzle:

1) Read professionally written articles on the web until you've absorbed their style.

2) Develop your own voice. Do this by writing and writing.

3) Paste a picture of your hypothetical reader on the computer, and write to that person. What do you need to say to catch and keep their attention?

4) Break it up. Use subheads, bullets, and numbers. Keep pulling the reader ahead with your subheads.

5) Edit.

-Read and re-read what you've written; cut out unneeded words. Think economy: less is more.

-Get somebody else to read it

-somebody who neither loves you nor hates you.

-Sleep on it. Never send out an article the same day you wrote it. Your brain will cook overnight and you'll think of all kinds of things you needed to say...and change.

-Read it from the bottom up. This is a good way to catch typos after you've looked at it for too long.

-Read it out loud.

-Do a spell check. In this modern age of spell checking word processors, how can anybody submit an article that contains misspelled words?

6) Beware of the spell check. It doesn't catch words used in the wrong context. .

The bottom line is, take more time with your stuff. Write something that will make ezines glow like comets and you'll see your dreams come true.

Data Warehousing and SAP BW

The basic criteria for the formation of data warehousing is to scrutinize data from diverse sources while taking decision-making. The objective of data warehousing is to scrutinize data from diverse sources to support decision making.

Poor Performance

Generally, data warehouse refers to storage of numerous data in it. It is not a quick process to retrieve data from the data warehouse for analysis purposes. To scrutinize the data, this data warehouse design uses a special process known as star schema. One finds difficult while extracting, transferring, transforming and loading data from diverse sources into a data warehouse. The Data must be analyzed properly before using. For the failures of many data warehousing projects ETTL has been frequently quoted. You also realize the problem if you started analyzing the data without SAP BW.

Today in large companies, SAP R/3 is used for management purposes. This SAP R/3 which is an enterprise resources planning system which is used business purposes. Before the introduction of the SAP BW, SAP R/3 was mainly used by the data warehouse. SAP BW is a business information warehouse which explains the needs of the business development. To mark your success in the market competition, you have to complete with the up-to-date development of your business environment. These challenges enable the business to take an appropriate decision with the available data. This decision enables you to make many successes in your business life.

Basic Concept of Data Warehousing

Data warehouse is a system, which contains its own database. This data warehouse collects data from various sources and it is planned to support while research has been taken place. For the purpose of analytical processing a special database technique called star schema is used.

Star Schema

Star schema is a new technique that is used by the business people for few years. This star schema has various concepts in it. Star schema is used for the data base by the following method.

This star schema is a graphical version. The name has been derived since it looks like a star. The table looks like a several dimension table. Since the table is very large, it is measured in the gigabyte. This table ensure with enormous useful data. The dimension table size will amount to 1 to 5 percent of the actual table size. This table does not require any normalization.

ETTLExtracting, Transferring, Transforming, and Loading Data

One finds difficult while designing database, because building a data warehouse involve a significant task that do not arise OLTP system. It is difficult to extract, transform, transfer and load the data from the diverse source to data warehouse.

ETTL Process

While extracting the data, data has been transferred from the source system such as sap R/3 system. The purpose of this extraction is to identify the right data. A knowledgeable source system is essential for absolute accomplishment.

In transfer, we transfer a large number of data from different source systems to the data warehouse. Here the purpose is to plan a reasonable schedule and should have reliable and fast networks.

In data transformation, we design data to represent consistently in the data warehouse. The original data which exist in different databases may use different data types or different file formats. Some are case sensitive; others may not be.

In loading, we load data the actual tables appropriately and quickly. The purpose is to develop a complete procedure.

This ETTL is a complex and time-consuming task. Any error in it will put in to a risk at data quality, will affect business decision making. Due to this reason many data warehousing projects will try to complete their work in time.

SAP R/3 is a good business functionality which leads to a complex database. Actually, it contains approximately 10,000 database tables. Sometimes the tables and columns may not have precise English descriptions. For years, due to the usage of SAP R/3 data for decision making, the business people face a continuous problem. Top 5 Steps to Bring The Secrets Law of Attraction Into Your Life

You may have seen the recent internet blockbuster, The Secret, and been inspired or even floored at the material presented. But how do you take the next step and bring all this into your life? Here are 5 steps that will send you on your way to attracting the things you want and should have in your life!

1. Accept that getting rich is a noble pursuit. Often times, in movies and on TV, rich people are portrayed as evil or the bad guys, where the heroes are struggling along without much to show. The reality is this is a bogus portrayal! The more money you make, the more you will be able to help the world. Many poor people have huge hearts. So do many rich people. But a poor person with a gigantic heart can only do so much to make the world better. However, there is no stopping a rich person with a heart of gold!

2. Realize that opportunities are endless. There are no set limits to the opportunities there are out there for you. Nobody has a monopoly on opportunity. Once you believe this, you will begin to see more possibilities in your life every day.

3. Focus on what you want. For years I tried to figure out what I wanted to do with my life by constantly describing what I didnt want. Its no wonder these years were filled with frustrations and dissatisfaction! If you want to be rich, focus on all the ways there are to make money, instead of how not to lose money. Obsess over your bills, and guess what you will get? More bills! As you continue to focus on your desires, and shut out all thoughts of what you do not want, good things will come into your life!

4. Give thanks. Show gratitude. Daily. And, when something good happens in your life, acknowledge and celebrate it! You have to be grateful for what you have and what you have achieved, or you will be mired in the small stuff and not be able to move beyond your current situation.

5. Stop being competitive and start getting creative. As a former college athlete, I have a natural competitive nature. Competitiveness can work wonders in the initial desire to improve your situation. However, there is no need to compete for what has already been created. Competing as if wealth is limited and running out will lead to misery, even if you do manage to get rich! Instead, focus on your unique ideas and thoughts- and cause these things to be created.

Understanding The Magic of Bluetooth Technology

Bluetooth technology is a low-power, low-cost wireless technology for short-range radio communication between various fixed and/or portable electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, PDAs, cars, stereo headsets, MP3s, digital cameras, PCs and computer peripherals. Bluetooth also refers to the standard communication protocol (IEEE 802.15.1) specifically designed for this kind of short-range wireless communication.

The core of Bluetooth technology lies in a low-cost 9 mm x 9 mm microchip that functions as a short-range radio link when inserted into an electronic device, making the device Bluetooth-enabled. Wireless communication between various bluetooth-enabled devices takes place via these radio links, instead of via cables as used in normal networking. Since Bluetooth technology uses radio signals, which are omni-directional and can be transmitted through walls and other obstacles, Bluetooth-enabled devices dont need to be in line of sight or be pointing at each other.

Bluetooth radio modules operate in the open, unlicensed ISM (industrialscientificmedical) spread-spectrum 2.4 GHz frequency band, divided into 79 channels separated by 1 MHz each. To avoid interference from other signals, the Bluetooth signal hops to a new channel every time it transmits or receives a data packet, making Bluetooth connection robust and secure. The communication range of Bluetooth technology varies from 1 m to 100 m, depending upon the maximum power permitted (1 mW to 100 mW). Because of this channel hopping, there should not be a consistent problem with other devices using the 2.4 Ghz frequency band, such as old cordless phones.

Each Bluetooth-enabled device can simultaneously communicate with up to seven other devices within a single personal area network, called a piconet. Each device can simultaneously belong to several piconets. Each device negotiates with each other via a defined device name so that each device can keep track of who it is communicating with. The device name to use when you are setting up your Bluetooth device is typically cleared stated in the accompanying device documentation.

Bluetooth technology offers built-in security with 128-bit encryption and PIN code authentication. When Bluetooth products identify themselves, they use the PIN code the first time they connect, thereafter staying securely connected.

Practical Applications of Bluetooth Networking

Some of the popular applications of Bluetooth technology are in wireless networking between a mobile phone and a laptop/desktop, between a mobile phone and a hands-free headset, between PCs in a restricted space and between the input and output devices of a PC (e.g., mouse, keyboard, printer). Bluetooth technology can also be used to transfer files, images and MP3 files between mobile phones or between MP3 players/digital cameras and computers.

Limitations of Bluetooth Technology

Short communication range (up to 100 m) is the greatest limitation of Bluetooth technology. Also, the data transfer rates are much lower compared to other wireless communication technologies. Susceptibility to interference from other devices operating in the 2.4 MHz band, notwithstanding adaptive frequency hopping, is another limitation. The Bluetooth technology is still not fully developed, so there is plenty of room for improvement.

Bluetooth-Enabled Devices

The Bluetooth wireless technology specification is available free-of-charge to Bluetooth member companies around the world. Many companies are interested in making their devices Bluetooth-enabled in order to avoid the clutter of wires with seamless connections and offer simultaneous transmission of data and voice as in hands-free talking.

Bluetooth technology is commercially available in a wide range of applications such as mobile phones, automobiles, medical devices, play stations and many more.

Drupal CMS

Drupal CMS

Drupal is a free modular content management framework, content management system and blogging engine which was originally written by Dries Buytaert as a bulletin board system. Today, it is used by many high-traffic websites, including The Onion, Spread Firefox (Glaxstar, see below), Ourmedia, KernelTrap, and the Defective by Design campaign. It is particularly popular for building online communities, and has the tag line "Community plumbing". Drupal is written in PHP. As of January 29, 2007, the current version was 5.1.

Content Management System

Drupal has a basic layer, or core, which supports pluggable modules which enable additional behaviors. The modules available for Drupal provide a wide assortment of features, including e-commerce systems such as the Amazon Items module[1], work-flow, photo galleries, mailing list management, and CVS integration.

Drupal's modular design and well-documented, clean codebase make it easier for individuals with knowledge of PHP to write code for additional features. Drupal is often used to build sites that focus on user communities.

Modules

Drupal's taxonomy (or categorization system) enables the site administrator to determine how content is classified. Once set up, the taxonomy module can automatically classify new content. This flexibility without the need for coding differentiates Drupal from similar systems; however it also renders the configuration more demanding and in some cases more time consuming.

The Actions and Workflow modules provide an example of the high degree of automation possible with Drupal. This requires the two modules to be set up using features from both. Extensive support documentation and videos are available to help configure the Workflow and Actions modules to achieve tasks such as sending out notices of new content.

Drupal achieves clean integration between the core and the modules via a system of hooks, or callbacks, to allow modules to insert functions into Drupal's path of execution. Drupal core provides protection against many of the usual security problems, like SQL injection.

Themes

Most themes for Drupal are written in the PHPTemplate engine or the XTemplate engine. Earlier templates used hard-coded PHP.

Earlier versions of Drupal's theming system were criticized [6] as being less design-oriented and more complicated than the systems for Mambo and Plone. The inclusion of the PHPTemplate and XTemplate engines in Drupal has addressed some of these criticisms.

Why Microsoft Windows Vista May Struggle

So, as most of you all know Microsoft is releasing its first Operating System since the 2001 release of Microsoft Windows XP. Is it going to be a success on a similar level to the its previous and very popular Operating System?

Opinions are obviously widespread and vary greatly but there are some fundamental issues that may cause sales to struggle.

Firstly, the current Operating System, Microsoft Windows XP is very popular and Vista doesnt really have anything major that will cause people to be eager to switch. When Windows 98 was replaced by XP it had many aspects which made it easier to persuade people to upgrade such as the ability for plug and play hardware for ease of installation. Such advances in computing are not seen within Vista.

There are changes which many a computer professional will find useful such as easier and more secure networking features and also Windows Superfetch, which is able to get more out of the Random Access Memory (RAM) your machine has. However, these improvements may not be seen as valuable enough to prompt a change in Operating System for the less technical home user.

As for Businesses, many will hold back for at least the initial six months to one year period for a number of reasons. Microsoft Windows XP has had some security problems which Microsoft has been addressing and a new Operating System could potentially have some security faults and loopholes which you can guarantee will be very tempting to hackers mainly to have a laugh at the expense of Microsoft.

Many businesses have, believe it or not, only changed over from Windows 98 to Windows XP in the last year or two and another change over which will be time consuming and costly is unlikely to happen initially.

Whilst Microsoft currently has the lion share of the market other Operating Systems such as Linux and Mac OS are becoming more and more popular as a valid alternative to the Windows Operating System. Microsoft needs to be careful not to alienate or confuse its users to avoid increasing the number of users using other alternatives. Other Operating Systems are also less susceptible to hackers and viruses due to the fact hackers mainly target Windows simply because most people use it.

Another issue would be regarding the cost. Many expect Vista to be cheaper than Windows XP was when it was first released to encourage people to switch. However, will users be willing to pay out when XP is still a very usable Operating System?

The majority of new users is likely to be buyers of new PCs which will come with Vista as the pre-installed Operating System.

Of course Microsoft Windows Vista will eventually take over Windows XP given time and I fully expect it to be a better Operating System once any teething problems are resolved. I personally will be upgrading without any doubt, but only after I know it has been tried and tested to make it worthwhile for me to make the change and Im sure many others will follow suit.

Reality Bites: The Cynical Underpinning of Reality TV

From "Survivor" to "The Amazing Race," from "The Apprentice" to "Runway," the ugly truth is that, far from being a competition in which the best contestant wins, Reality TV shows are rife with infighting, political cliques, backbiting, betrayal, and exclusion. Alliances are formed, individuals are targeted for expulsion, and participants often lie about each other in order to put themselves in a better light than their competitors.

In a recent episode of "The Apprentice," one team discovered that the competing team had arranged to purchase every available megaphone from a store chain for an upcoming promotion. The team that made the discovery beat their competitors to the store carrying the equipment, misrepresented themselves to the store clerk, and made off with the other team's megaphones. Donald Trump's response? "Good for them!"

All of which says what about American culture? Have we entered an era of social Darwinism in which "the survival of the fittest" rules? Is Reality TV redefining the values of the American people, or are they only reflecting a shift that had already taken place?

Consider this: Over a million additional Americans fell below the poverty level in the year 2004. Over forty million Americans are without health insurance coverage. Huge spikes in oil and natural gas prices, even before Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, threatened the financial survival of the working poor as they faced a harsh winter and impossibly high heating fuel bills. And all the while, Congress and the Bush administration promoted tax cuts for the wealthy, okayed windfall profits and subsidies for the oil companies, and discussed cutting fuel assistance programs.

Survival of the fittest. Now think about Katrina, and the woefully inadequate governmental response, and the circling of land speculators around the ruined neighborhoods of New Orleans only days after the hurricane.

Substitute food and water for those purloined megaphones, and adequate health care, and decent affordable housing, and ask yourselves: Is the view of life expressed many times a week on these Reality TV shows what we truly want for this country? Do we want our government and private citizens to react to a disaster like Katrina by fighting for necessities, cutting the weak out of the loop when it comes to essential services, and turning our backs on the most vulnerable among us in favor of the strong, the healthy, the well-connected, and the rich? Because those are the values we're worshipping constantly in our support of the ubiquitous Reality TV programming.

We need to take a good look at Reality TV and the morally bankrupt values it is promoting, and ask ourselves this: What do we as citizens want our relationship to be with each other? What do we want our government, which acts as our surrogate, to do to help the poorest and the weakest among us? Are we really committed to the "survival of the fittest" view as expressed by Reality TV, corporate interests, and current government officials, or do we want to create a community which provides a safety net for the vulnerable and help for each other in the event of unexpected misfortune?

Fans may enjoy all the high drama of their favorite reality TV shows, and may laugh at any comparison to our larger social structure. But the grim fact is, Reality TV eerily reflects the cynicism and self-interest that permeates American society today, and the implications of that, should another widespread disaster strike, are not pretty.

Online Poker Tools

Poker tools can be a valuable addition to any poker players arsenal. There are a variety of tools available and this article will examine the different types available to assist players. The most commonly used poker tools are hand history databases, computer playing programs, online poker assistants and online poker tools.

Hand History Databases

Most online poker rooms offer players the ability to download the histories of the hands that they have participated in. These hand histories are in a text format and while it is possible for a player to scan and analyse a single hand, it quickly becomes difficult and tiresome for multiple hands. Hand history databases offer the features like win rate calculations, opponent analysis, hand replay, analysis by position and much more. The most popular poker tools of this type include "Poker Tracker" and "Poker Office".

Computer Playing Programs

Programming computers to play a strong game of poker is extremely difficult and it is only recently that they have become about the same strength as an above average player. Compare this to games such as chess and backgammon, where computers have now surpassed all but the strongest humans. These programs allow players to practice and improve their play without having any money at risk. Most also offer advice and the ability to setup and analyse certain situations. The strongest playing poker programs available to purchase are "Poker Academy" and Turbo series of programs produced by Wilson Software.

Online Poker Assistants

With the explosion in popularity of online poker, much software has been developed to assist players while they are playing. There are a couple of what are termed "bots" that make all of the decisions for a player but these are not very strong and if discovered using one of these programs a player can be banned and lose the money in their online poker room account. Other types of software that are also available are programs that overlay tables with statistics summarising hand odds as well as the playing style of other players (for example listing how often a certain player raises, calls or folds) in real time. Examples of these online poker assistants are "Pokerbility" and "PokerAce HUD".

Online Poker Tools

There are a number of web sites that provide free online poker tools to their visitors. Some of the tools available are odds calculators which analyse the probabilities for games such as Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Seven Card Stud poker, and tournament equity calculators. Whilst they may not directly assist a player while they are playing they are great at improving a player's knowledge which then can later be applied at the table. Websites with a variety of useful online poker tools include "http://www.twodimes.net/poker" and "http://www.poker-tools-online.com".

What is the difference between Windows and UNIX web hosting?

Windows and UNIX are in fact two different systems and of course we are referring to computer systems. A web host uses computers, (we shall refer to them as servers, just computers, but sometimes larger) to host websites, and all computers need a operating system, so Windows and UNIX are the operating system.

The Windows used is normally Windows NT or 2000 and of course as you know Microsoft charges for it's software, while UNIX is an open source operating system, this means that the original creators of the system have given up the rights and anyone can use it, change, improve or do anything they want with, free of charge.

From this we already have to main differences, Window hosts are more expensive and UNIX is more reliable, because it as been improved by thousands of anonymous people.

Most probably you are reading this in front of your computer which most probably is operates on a Windows XP, have you noticed that it sometimes, it freezes, and the only solution is to restart it? UNIX is much more stable, robust, time-tested, flexible platform for a web server.

But Windows servers have also it's positive sides, they are compatible with Microsoft applications, and fully support Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Access and MS SQL, they also offer advance-programming environments and features such as Active Server Pages (ASP), the ASP.NET framework, Visual Basic Scripts, MS Index Server, Macromedia's and Cold Fusion.

Windows operating system require little or no experience in web development to get advanced features working very quickly because of better graphical user interface (GUI) Software such as Microsoft's FrontPage is specially developed for the webmaster to decrease the website development time and efforts.

Lets go back again to UNIX, they support FrontPage, Flash, Shockwave, Real Audio/Video, Cgi Scripts, Perl, PHP, SSH (Secure Telnet), MySQL, Web-Based Control System, Anonymous FTP, Web Site Graphical Statistics, Web-Based Email System, Miva/XML, Cold Fusion Perl, JAVA, PHP, C, C++, Miva, Shell Access and other wide verity of feature like Telnet and SSH that provides lots of flexibility and freedom in managing file and directories, but some of this require advance knowledge of Unix commands in order for you to customize the scripts to match your website needs.

Because of the nature of UNIX, (open source) and the people who love it, there is on the WWW freely available software and scripts, again bringing the cost down.

Concluding which one is the best, it really depends what you need, if you need high uptime, security and not so expensive then go with UNIX, if you need to run Windows applications like, MS Access or the MS SQL SERVER then Windows is your choice.

Sharing the Responsibilities - My Family's Guide to Summer Fun

I dont know about you, but when summer vacation rolls around I get so excited about all the wonderful things I will get to do with my children. With all the free time, I begin making plans and writing down my intentions for summer fun. I try to include a variety of activities for my children to enjoy. These activities don't always have to cost a lot of money, but finding the time can be a bit challenging.

The daily routine of life can sometimes get in the way of my plans and my dreams can quickly deflate into reality. This summer is going to be different for my kids. I have a plan and this plan includes a bit of structure involving teamwork. All the responsibility isnt going to rest on my shoulders to insure we get out the door in a timely manner. We will work together as a team and share the same interest of completing certain tasks so we can enjoy the rest of the day together.

Okay, so Im dreaming again. But seriously, this can be done. Sure, its going to take a major overhaul in our attitudes to make this boat float but we can do it! Are you ready to hear my plan?

First of all, I have identified one of the major reasons why we dont always get out the door. With four children, I have a lot of household responsibilities that can be shared with my daughters who are old enough to assist me. These chores will be delegated to each child on a weekly basis and must be finished first thing in the morning. I have found over the years that it is often easier to just do the job myself. This attitude needs to change on my part. Sharing the household responsibilities can be fun and is an investment in the future of my children.

Secondly, an allowance will be given on a weekly basis, provided the chores are properly completed. Whining is not allowed! The children will receive their allowances on Friday, with a certain percentage placed in their savings account and the rest to be used for entertainment.

This brings my to my third and final point. In the past, all expenses have been taken care of by me. With my new plan in place, the children will now be earning their own income to pay for their entertainment. Not only will we be able to actually get out the door because of our teamwork, but the kids will be earning their own spending money to pay for the fun things they want to do. If they dont work, they dont play.

My children will be learning to be responsible with the money they earn and will enjoy the freedom of being able to earn their own income.

Rather than just spending money randomly, my children will gain an understanding and appreciation for the value of a dollar. This builds character and is a life lesson that will be carried on into adulthood. Plus, we get to enjoy the summer sun and spend precious time together!

The 10 Most Important "To-Do's" of Any Successful Salesperson

Here are 10 Sales Performance Steps to Routine Revenue

1) Define your Target Market

3 questions that set you up for success (or failure)
1) Who do I call on?
2) What do I call on?
3) Why should I call them?

Here's why:

1) Your average revenue per account is directly proportional to what companies you decide to call on.

2) The level of responsibility you call on directly affects your sales cycle and first appointment to proposal ratio.

3) And the reason you call on them directly influences your closing ratio.

Get the picture?

What this tells you is that you do have absolute control over your performance metrics.

However, you need to be able to clear on the "who", the 'what", and the "why" to understand the most effective prospects to call on.

Your answers should relay:

Vertically by industry
Horizontally by title
and
Benefit-based by application.

2) Develop a 'Targeted Selection Process'

Sales people without targeted prospects are like trees without leaves. Eventually, you wither and die!

Your target list is one of the most vital ingredients to begin your sales process. Getting targeted, prospecting data should be an ongoing project. It must be done prior to and independent from the act of communicating to set a first sales appointment.

Regardless of whose responsibility it is to accumulate this target list - (the sales person or the company) - it MUST be done ahead of time. Think of it as the preferred destination on your road map, and a necessary item to check off before you start your trip.

3) Understand & Identify your 'Magic Number'

Your 'Magic Number' is the number of new appointments you need each week to assure your revenue goal is met each month. It's a derivative of your sales cycle, average revenue per sale, 1st appointment to proposal ratio, closing ratio, and revenue goal.

It too is a dynamic number which is based on your individual competency ratios and performance numbers. So, it's personal to you, and directly linked to your success.

Let me say that again.

You magic number is personal to you - and DIRECTLY affects your success.

By meeting or exceeding this activity number, you can routinely eliminate fluctuating sales results and virtually assure achieving your income goals.

4) Interpret your 'Hourly Rate'

The lure of flexibility, the temptation of low supervision and the idea of freedom from a regimented time-clock makes professional selling a very attractive career choice for the dreamers, visionaries and idealists among us.

To borrow a quote from Phil Helmuth, two-time World Champion of Poker"It's the hardest way to make easy money there is."

It's true. We don't punch a physical clock or necessarily have someone monitoring our time on the job. But we do have an internal clock of accountability.

It's not accountability to our company per say, but to our desired results and to us.

It's called our 'Hourly Rate.'

You can calculate yours by dividing your income goal by 252, and again by 9.

Want to join the 100K Club?

You don't need cumbersome time management courses to make the right choices in your daily routines if you are aware of what you are worth.

5) Block 90 minutes a day, for 'Opportunity Creation'

If you want to leap over the heads of your colleagues - adopt this strategy:

Block off 90 minutes per day (Every day) to initiate contacts for new appointments.

You can slide it up and down during the week, but do not eliminate any blocks until you achieve your 'magic number' for the week. Consider this your weekly quota. Not in revenue, but in activity.

Use the 90-minute block for contacting targets, not figuring out what targets to call. Have your list ready and complete. Discipline yourself to daily routines to achieve weekly goals for assuring your monthly results.

6) Define & Measure a minimum objective for the 1st appointment

Do you know what your objective is for your first appointment? What is it that you are trying to achieve? How are you measuring it?

Simply putyour objective should be to gain commitment to take the next step in the sales process.

This evaluation will lead you to a results oriented training process to improve your 1st appointment to proposal ratio. You should develop a 'gateway' definition and business rule to gauge how may times you achieve it. Then be sure to measure it and find a strategy to re-adjust your product or service.

7) Assemble a checklist of strategies & tactics between appointments in your sales cycle

Want to know the difference between a sales leader and a sales follower?

Just watch what they do during their "in between time".

You may be shocked to know that the difference between excellence and mediocrity is what routines and processes a person puts in place between appointments, not just during appointments.

Use these tips from the X2 system to help you develop good habits between appointments.

1. Will you have all the decision-makers present for the 'closing 'appointment?
2. If not, what can be done to get them involved?
3. Is there a perception of risk because of brand identity?
4. Fax over any pertinent industry articles and testimonial letters from businesses similar to theirs.
5. Do they think you are expensive? Develop a ROI model exclusive to their business.

And on it goes.

Meet with your team to brainstorm around each scenario that happens in the sequence of appointments, and develop Powerful Routines to raise your closing ratio and quicken your sales cycle.

8) Integrate 'Customer Creation' programs

The secret of being a "master of cold-calling" is NOT actually having to do it - Jeff Hardesty

If you've been in your sales position for more than 4 months and you're still relying on cold-calling 100% of the time, you're working way too hard.

The key to efficiency is to work smart, not hard.here are a few ways to leverage your success.

Set up a process of routinely asking for referrals at the end of your sales process, (win or lose).

Join or start a lead group.

Develop your own referral program.

Identify clients with customers that you can help.

Contact businesses that have services that compliment yours, and educate them to your collaboration program.

Use these 'Customer Creation' models and reap the rewards of a true entrepreneur.

Rememberthe key is to LEVERAGE every available resource you have.

9) Pro-actively Procure Testimonial Letters

One of the most powerful 'grass roots' marketing tools is scenario-based testimonial letters. Set up a process in your daily routine to let loose when you hear opportunities for testimonials. They are abundant, and can be born out of both good and bad scenarios.

In fact, a 'bump-in-the-road' letter is 5 times more powerful than the standard 'Golly-gee, you're great!' letter because it shows that someone had a problem and you fixed it.

Everyone knows stuff happens. So when you solve problems for people - get a letter. Strive to secure a testimonial letter from each of your customers or inquire about what you must do to get one. If you will do this, you will build an arsenal of "trust building" "customer getting" and "sales closing" tools that will be more valuable to you than gold.

10) Train for a High 'Conversation to Appointment' Ratio

Most sales organizations die a slow death from not setting enough "new" appointments on a routine basis. That's because the average conversation to appointment ratio is between 5-18%.

Therefore, the most important competency to "train to" and "ratio to measure" in sales is converting conversations to appointments.

With the myriad of potential roadblocks in your way such as voice mail, gate keepers, and busy schedulesit's hard enough to just get a conversation with your prospect.

So you must dedicate some training time to this core competency. Then you can improve your conversion ratio and you will need fewer conversations to achieve the necessary number of new appointments. Less hits, more appointments.

Less time, more commission.

Search Engines And Directories - Understanding The Difference

One thing that is so basic that it often still needs to clarified is the concept that a search engine and a search directory (article directory) are not the same thing. The traditional search engines add Web site pages to their databases automatically and then rank them in popularity in their search engine rankings based on user submissions. However, these search engines also periodically send their automatic robots or "spiders" out to "crawl" for new and updated information on websites that can also be indexed and added to the search engine rankings. Complex algorithms (that are comparable to the mysterious complex FICO Scores that are used to calculate your credit rating) calculate your web pages popularity on a number of different factor. The most famous example of a pure search engine like this is Google

Directories also qualify as a search site but they are not the same as a search engine. To get listed on a directory, you must actually submit your front page URL on the directory's submission form. Also instead of being evaluated by an algorithm, these pages are directly assessed by a human being. This means that your site is ranked according to the information that you submitted on your application. This is very different from a typical search engine that assesses your web ranking according to what is actually on the home page of your web site. The Open Directory, Yahoo and LookSmart are the main Internet directories that are managed in this way.

To make things even more difficult the search sites and the search engines work in cahoots together to boost each others rankings. Almost all of the major search engines also work in tandem with a directory which is why, for instance, a listing in DMOZ almost automatically guarantees you a place on Google.

Picture Frames and Photos

Picture frames are normally made of hard or soft wood. Other materialssuch as polystyrene or aluminumare used as well. Picture frames may be of any texture or color, but gilding is popular on older frames. Depending on the subject matter of photos, picture frames can have elaborate mouldings. Picture frames may contain a glass pane or a plastic glass substitute, like Plexiglasthis protects the photos. Glass may be treated with assorted coatings, the most traditional being UV filters. Glazings such as Optium, Denglas and Museum glass have a coating that makes the glass partly non-reflective and basically invisible under ideal lighting situations.

Picture frames are containers added to photos in order to enhance, protect and display photos. Some individuals even possess digital picture frames. The photo frame displays digital photos without the arduous need to print the photographs. Currently, digital photography unavoidably display the photos directly from the memory card of a cameraalthough a few styles may also provide internal storage to the memory. Some models can even load photos over the Internet from an RSS feed, by e-mail and photo-sharing websites like Picasa or Flickr. Most digital picture frames display photos as a slideshow. Digital photo frames can even play movie clips which are recorded in a cameras movie mode (MP3 audio or MPG files).

The process of recording photos by means of capturing the light on a medium thats light-sensitive,sensor or filmphotography is light patterns emitted from certain objects to expose a sensitive chemical (electronic medium) during a timed exposure. This is normally accomplished via a photographic lens in a camera, which also stores the resulting information electronically or with chemicals.

Since traditional photography burdened most photographers working at remote locales without the easy access to processing facilities, Kodak unveiled the new, sophisticated DCS 100, the very first commercial digital camera in 1990. Thus, commercial digital photography came to life. The high cost precluded uses other than professional photography and photojournalism. The primary contrast between chemical and digital photography is that analog photography does indeed resist manipulation since it entails film, photographic paper and optics. Digital photography is undeniably a highly manipulative medium, as it is quickly replacing film photography in professional and consumer markets.

Fortunately for the savvy consumer, most picture frames are simple and elegant to match with practically any furniture and appliance. Photos can come in picture frames that are available in gold, silver or sometimes even platinum colors, with a wide 3 frame borders. This gives most picture frames the look of style and contemporary appeal, coupled with beauty and elegance to maximum expression. Most picture frames are manufactured and handcrafted for photos of weddings, birthdays, family gatherings and anniversaries.

Josie Lee has a wide collection of picture frames. To view some of her frames visit http://www.picframes.info/.

Josie Lee knows majority of the population uses a digital camera. With this new innovation many people are now using digital photo frames. Visit http://www.picframes.info/ for more information.Keslie Blog29645

The Hunt For Red October (DVD) Review

Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin star in The Hunt For Red October, a brilliantly conceived storyline drawn from the pages of military thriller and superstar writer Tom Clancy's first novel. Blessed with a cutting-edge plot and dripping with suspense, The Hunt For Red October is one of the best Soviet/US spy films ever produced (and right on the cusp of the Cold War's end). Perhaps the Soviet Union's collapse was hurried along by its fear of a civilian populace that could write stories so close to reality. After all, if a US civilian could estimate the capabilities of the new Soviet submarines, what had their government uncovered? Regardless of its real life implications, The Hunt For Red October is an entertaining film rivaled by few in its class

When Captain Marko Ramius (Sean Connery) is appointed to command the newest and most technologically advanced submarine in the Soviet fleet - the Red October, he orders his crew to do the unthinkable - defect to the United States. Diverting the sub from its designated course, he causes alarm among the ranks of the entire Soviet military establishment. The United States takes notice as well, informed by the Soviet Union that the renegade commander is intent on attacking the United States.

But CIA operative Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin) has another theory. Suppose that Ramius was attempting to defect? Would the Soviet Union really inform its greatest enemy of a defection, or would they simply attempt to enlist its services in immediately destroying the sub? Ryan banks on the latter and does everything within his power to convince the top brass that he's right. Now, the hunt is on between the two largest superpowers in the world. Which one will find the Red October first?

The role of Jack Ryan, so brilliantly portrayed by Alec Baldwin, falls to Harrison Ford for the next two Tom Clancy novels adapted to the big screen - Patriot Games and Clear And Present Danger. Ben Affleck would later star in the role of Ryan for the 2002 film release of Sum Of All Fears. But Baldwin is clearly in command of the character in this initial onscreen depiction of the now famous Jack Ryan.

However, the true star of The Hunt For Red October is Sean Connery, the former James Bond regular, who plays the role of Captain Marko Ramius. Connery is more than believable as the headstrong, renegade commanding officer of the Red October. In addition to its strong casting, The Hunt For Red October is further enhanced by the screenwriter's decision to stick as close as possible to Tom Clancy's original work. A surprising #1 best-seller, The Hunt For Red October became a national phenomenon following its less than ambitious initial print-run of 15,000 copes by the Naval Institute Press. Its best-seller status wasn't the result of luck, as this film will attest. The first in a series of blockbuster Jack Ryan films, The Hunt For Red October is a definite must-see film no one should miss.

Horse Marketing 101

If you rely on your horses for income, you are going to have to have good marketing skills just like any other business. That's right, horses don't sell themselves! If you are a breeder, riding instructor, trainer, boarding facility, or horse dealer, you are going to need to reach and impress your potential customers in order to sell them your products and services. How do you do that? Just follow the steps illustrated below and you'll be well on your way to enjoying a successful horse-related business!

1.) Know who your customers are. Who needs your products and services? If you are a training facility, then people with untrained horses need you. If you are a boarding facility, then horse owners who don't have space at home for their horses need you. If you are a riding instructor, then your potential customers are anyone who wants to learn how to ride horses. You get the picture! A big part of making sure your horse business works is identifying your customers.

2.) Find out where your customers hang out. Where do horse people congregate? At feed and tack stores, at horse shows, at online horse-related web sites and chat rooms, to name just a few. Now break it down even further. Let's say you are a breeder of Morgan horses. Sure, you'll find some Morgan enthusiasts at the tack shop and feed store, but you'll likely find them in droves at breed-specific shows. Find out what newspapers and magazines your potential customers read as well.

3.) Advertise! Now that you've done all that research to determine who your customers are, where they hang out, and what they read, it's time to put your product and service in front of them! Put ads in magazines and newspapers that they read, hang up flyers at tack and feed stores, and advertise in show programs.

4.) Know how to write a good advertisement. How you come across to your potential customers will make all the difference in the world when it comes to whether or not they will choose your products and services over those of a competitor. Be creative and give your ads a little zing! Make them memorable. Let's say you are selling a horse. Instead of writing an ad that only tells the horse's color, size, breed, and discipline, try adding impressive bloodlines if appropriate, accolades won, and personality traits that you think your customers will appreciate. An ad that is personal and tells the audience more than just the dry details is sure to get a lot of response.

5.) Set yourself apart by giving away some "freebies." Give something away for free, and the customers will come to you. Your give-away can be as simple and cost-effective as an open barn day that allows the community to come and enjoy your facility, or your could go large-scale and sponsor a class at a show. Remember, the goal is to get your name out there in front of those who would benefit from your product or service. Be creative!

6.) Know that word of mouth can make you or break you. Your current customers are the best advertisements you have. Work to retain them, and do what you can to make them happy. They'll tell friends, who will tell more friends, and so on. Run your business with integrity and honesty, and treat your customers fairly. Always represent your products and services truthfully. The old adage "under promise and over deliver" works well in the horse world, too!

Wit h a little marketing knowledge in hand, you'll have your horse business up and running in no time. Good luck!

Fat-Burning Foods

In your quest to lose weight, there are a variety of foods that are not only healthy and nutritious, but help your body lose weight naturally and increase your bodys rate of fat loss. Incorporating some or all of these foods into your daily diet will speed up weight loss, burn fat, and help in your search for a better, healthier body.

* Apples and berries contain pectin. Pectin restricts the amount of fat the cells can absorb and forces the cells to discharge fatty deposits.

* Citrus fruits contain high concentrations of Vitamin C. Vitamin C burns fat by diluting or liquefying it. This makes it less effective and easier for the body to flush fat from the system. Vitamin C also helps burn out the cholesterol making it difficult for cholesterol deposits to form in blood vessels.

* Calcium in dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt plays an important role in weight loss by accelerating the fat breakdown in fat cells.

* Broccoli and Cabbage both contain very high quantities of calcium and Vitamin C and are full of fiber!

* Eggs are high in protein and essential in burning fat. If you are concerned about cholesterol, you can eat the white part as that is the most nutritious part of the egg.

* Garlic or garlic oil helps reduce fatty deposits in your bodys cells.

* Green Tea boosts metabolism and may aid in weight loss. It also contains anti-cancer properties and helps prevent heart disease.

* Hot Peppers can speed up your metabolism. This causes you to burn more calories.

* Lean Turkey fires up the bodys fat-burning abilities by boosting metabolism and building lean muscle tissue that, in turn, burns more calories.

* Oatmeal and Whole Grains are great sources of fat-absorbing fiber that keeps the body full by providing it with energy. They also rev up the metabolism, necessary for burning fat and calories.

* Soup is a terrific appetite suppressant. Burn fat faster by having a bowl of soup as an appetizer or a snack. Make your own with lots of fresh veggies.

* Soybeans contain lecithin, a chemical that protects your cells from accumulating fat. Lecithin prevents fat from forming on your cells and breaks down fatty deposits in your body.

* Eat the right type of fats:

Monounsaturated fats lower the risk of heart disease, burn fat, and reduce the bad(LDL) cholesterol, without affecting the good (HDL) cholesterol. These healthy fats can be found in olive oil, avocados and nuts (pecans, peanuts, almonds, and cashews). Omega 3 fatty acids have the same function as the monounsaturated fats and can be found in salmon, sardines, herring, and canola oils.

Dont forget. The first rule of a healthy and nutritious diet is to drink water, lots of water! Water flushes out the system and eliminates harmful toxins. It enables the body to run more efficiently, speeds up metabolism, and makes it easier to lose weight and burn fat. Your body is made up of 70% water and needs a lot of water each day to perform its necessary functions.

Freelance Copywriting - Marketing Yourself and Your Website: Part 2

As a freelance copywriter, you have ready-made skills to hand that will enable you to market your website in highly effective ways.

By using your most deft copywriting techniques including sleight of hand and a little keyword juggling youll race up Googles rankings faster than you can say search engine optimization!

In so many ways, the freelance copywriters time has come thanks largely to the ascendancy of the Internet. For long enough, copywriting was regarded as rather quaint in the so-called visual age where everyone watches TV and is exposed continually to sophisticated packaging and product design.

Today, where the accepted Internet marketing mantra is content is king, a freelance copywriter can market his or her website using the same skill-sets that their site is promoting namely, website copywriting, news releases, article and blog writing. How neat is that?

And how neat is it that freelance copywriters get to practise all this on their clients projects before a single word has been written in anger for themselves!

If youre relatively new to freelance copywriting or youve only recently joined the Internet marketing world after a prolonged Rip Van Winkle period its important to understand the synergies that exist when using online copywriting methods.

Underlying all-things-marketing on the web from website copy to articles to blogs to Google AdWords and AdSense is the assumption that the right keywords are being used in both sufficient quantity and density.

In other words, your copy should be optimized to attract search engine attention to everything you write. Only by being visible in this way can you hope to enjoy respectable rankings for your website.

This in turn may be based on the inbound links from your news releases and articles which again should be targeted, wherever possible, at publishers who are well-ranked in their own right on search engines.

Likewise, its important to make sure that a specified URL or landing page carries all the relevant keywords to link successfully with a Google AdWords advertising campaign, whilst the potential revenue which can accrue from AdSense programmes is determined in part by high-paying keywords as well as high site traffic and click-through rates.

The theme of optimized copy and relevant keywords continues remorselessly into the world of article marketing. Whilst the standing of the various online directories is a factor in ranking the quality of inbound links to your website, the uptake of articles by search engines is also related to keyword relevance.

On the face of it, all this may seem like connectability for its own sake and without any underlying rationale. The fact is, a definite structure has evolved to accommodate the various Internet marketing activities and this can be found online in the convenient shape of online directories which act as a repository for websites, articles and blogs.

The thousands of directories on the web represent endless marketing opportunities for freelance copywriters, limited only by the diligence and dedication of the copywriters concerned.

To understand the marketing dynamics of all this activity, its important to stand back and reflect on the whole search engine phenomenon

Basically, its all about matching the needs of searchers with those websites that offer the most relevant products and services. As a freelance copywriter, your website will fit neatly into the grand scheme of things.

Its success or visibility to search engines will be determined not only by how well you understand the big picture. Its also to do with appreciating how the various components such as articles, blogs and the rest can be promoted in their own right to best market your website and your expertise as a freelance copywriter.
